iDance Echuca’s Preschool Tap classes provide a fun and engaging introduction to tap dance for young students. These classes are designed to help children explore rhythm, sound, and movement in a structured and supportive environment.

Each class typically includes a warm-up, simple tap steps, rhythm and timing activities, and creative movement. Students are encouraged to listen to music, respond to different tempos, and begin coordinating their feet with sound, while learning to follow instructions and participate independently within a group setting.

Preschool Tap supports the development of musicality, rhythm, coordination, balance, memory retention, and spatial awareness. Through age-appropriate exercises and playful activities, students build confidence and an understanding of how movement and music work together.

These classes are suitable for both boys and girls and place a strong focus on early independence in a positive and welcoming class environment.

Preschool Tap is offered as a combined class for children aged 3–5 years.
Students generally commence from 3 years of age. As we now offer a Mum’s and Bub’s program for younger dancers, parents or guardians are not required to stay for Preschool Tap classes. This supports the development of confidence, independence, and classroom readiness.

Preschool Tap provides a strong foundation in rhythm and musical awareness and is an ideal stepping stone into our school-age tap program
